Pauline Youngblood Soli, began her career as a Medical Aesthetician, working with dermatologists and plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills. She had daily contact with people who had undergone procedures that were extremely harsh to the skin. These patients typically had to wait up to six months before the skin returned to normal, and Pauline was not satisfied with the cosmetic options available.

Pauline began working with chemists to develop cosmetics that would cover inflamed or discolored skin, while allowing it to breathe and heal. This led to her to work with mineral cosmetics. The first product developed was a loose mineral foundation, which provided excellent coverage and a natural appearance. Before long, patients and friends convinced her to make this natural mineral foundation commercially available and she founded Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics in 1996.
