Help Your Clients with Social Media Profile Pic Makeovers!

With the internet and social networking sites connecting our lives in ways we never imagined – job searches! friendship! dating! – but there’s one important element that many people overlook: a good, professional looking photo to go along with your profile.

Studies have proven that people who are considered attractive are more successful in their careers, which is probably especially true in this industry, and the importance of looking good in your profile on a dating site goes without saying. As adults, though, it’s not like we have school picture day where we look our best and have our image captured by a professional photographer.

One solution to the masses need for attractive, professional looking pictures to use is to host a Social Media Makeover event at your salon. Have your clients make appointments to receive a free mini-makeup application, and have a photographer on hand to snap a few pictures of them looking their best.

So what’s in it for you? Well, you can position this in a number of ways:

·         This is a great way to introduce your clients to the cosmetics your salon sells. Once you get the product on their beautiful faces, they are more likely to make a purchase. So you can think of this as a great way to kick start cosmetic sales.

·         You can offer this service to a select group of people, say for the many unemployed population who want to make their LinkedIn profile pop.

·         Or you can make this a charitable event “Social Media Pictures Helping Social Change,” where you have people make a suggested donation to a social cause of your choosing in exchange for the service.

A bonus to all of this? You’ll have to email your clients the pictures, which means you’ll now have their email addresses to add them to the list of any email marketing communication your salon sends out.
